A question for photographers

I am enjoying my Diploma course with the British School of Photography and have just received a Merit award for my final assignment.

My MacBook is getting on (and keeps moaning there is no space when there is 52gb free) and I’ve noticed it’s slowing down.

I want to replace the MacBook but am not sure what with. The current line of MacBooks don’t give you a great deal for your money. So I wondered…

What computer do you use for seizing, storing and viewing photographs?

Are you a Mac user? Have you stuck with them and do you find the current MacBooks up to scratch?

Are you a PC photo editor? Does it really matter these days which system you use?

Is there a good spec PC laptop with a decent screen, fast processor and crisp screen which won’t break the bank?

Any ideas, views or opinions?

I’m keen to hear what the inter webs thinks of the subject. Please let me know in the comments or on Twitter.
