No Thrill Windchill

nrc-20180116_153546-stickered.jpgToday’s plan: Work from home, crack on with work then get out for a run before the sun sets.  Simple!*

What I hadn’t appreciated was that the blue sky and sun were very deceptive.

It was very windy and very cold.  Temperature report said 6 but the 17 mph winds made the windchill bring it down to 2.

The cold wind immediately got to my chest and I struggled from the off.

I could have turned back but decided to run a full loop of where we live.  This ended up being 4 running intervals of 3 minutes each with a minute walk between them.

I enjoyed the runs despite the wind and to be honest the walks were actually uncomfortable as it was so cold.  My hands were frozen!

Not the best run (maybe not the worst) but it’s done now so I can strike off the first run of the week.

I’ll be keeping a closer eye on the weather when I run next though!

*This doesn’t include smashing a glass and filling the kitchen-diner with shards of glass at 7:30 this morning!
