I have been using the exercise bike three times a week as a way to keep my body and mind active and de-stressed. Today I decided as it was time I got back out running.
I set off with Week 3 of Couch to 5K to get myself into a rhythm, it helped in part but I did more than I intended (and planned in the coaching session).
I ran the start and the first run block, walked the walking sessions but pushed myself through the runs and even managed to push through a Fartlek sprint section (with thanks to Britney Spears Work Bitch) and ran the end section as well.
The only slight snag was the wind which was gale force and caused me to get choked up (snot rockets aplenty). Oh, and there was an uneasy feeling from my tummy as I had luxury bacon and cheese sausage rolls for lunch (not the best pre-run snack).
Aside from all of this, I enjoyed the run. I pushed harder than I have for a while and used the coaching session as motivation which worked.
I am very happy with today’s efforts (and I also managed some time to try out a new softbox today so snapped some self-portraits as well).
Quite a productive and positive day 🙂
