Whilst building my confidence during my day with Homer Sykes in Portobello Road, London I saw this lady cross the road and noticed she matched the surroundings.
Originally I shot this as black and white but like the colour version (something Homer was trying to get us to do).
The blur of the car vs her abrupt stopped motion freezes her in time.
I’d taken a couple of continuous shots to get this and whilst reviewing them with Homer he suggested this was the strongest due to the blur and the composition.
I would have cropped in but Homer recommended keeping the shot wide to allow balance. He liked the way the lady was in the middle of the frame and recommend I keep it that way so I have.
