Can you hear a Bittern?

I know we are meant to isolate and stay away from people but we honestly saw hardly anyone today.

We decided to visit the RSPB Minsmere reserve. They’ve shut the facilities but left the reserve open.

We took a flask for a hot drink and the Fujifilm X100T and headed out for a hour or two to walk, decompress and get back to nature.

I think we saw a total of 7 people. All of whom were polite, kept their distance and I believe we’re doing the same as us. Trying to get some headspace and make sense of all this chaos.

It was so quiet on the reserve we heard Bitterns calling around the Reed beds.

It was lovely to get out while we still can. I find it hard to even believe we may be stuck in our homes soon but that’s a reality we all face.

Today I took a handful of photos which I will share over the next couple of days as a reminder of the freedom of being outside.

I totally understand why we will be restricted from going out and I’m all for it. We all have to play our part to beat this pandemic.

I hope to continue my walks around the block before I start working from home for as long as I am able. I’ll also aim to carry my camera to get inspired. I’ll share anything that catches my eye.

I hope you’re all well. Take care and be safe.
