A signpost illustrating the local cycleways and a cyclist passing by in the background.
Canon 7 Rangefinder, 50mm, f/4, Kodak Ektar 100

I shot a second roll of film with the Canon 7 over Christmas and took a number of shots to try out the camera.

Some were more considered that others. Some shots I tried slow shutter (long exposure) photos of the local highway. Shooting from the hip for a few and (like the photo above) planned shots.

This was taken with Kodak Ektar around midday in crisp winter sunlight.

I originally planned for just the signpost but luckily spotted the cyclist coming into view. I wanted to keep him out of focus and shot around f/4. It seems like my gamble played off.

I really like this photo.

Do you like this? What are your thoughts?

Have you been able to get out and take any photographs recently during the pandemic? This spot is within Colchester and very quiet as it’s the local reservoir/nature reserve. Again I feel lucky we have this on our doorstep and when we (rarely) venture outside, we encounter very few people.

Stay safe.
